Successful peripheral nerve repair (PNR) is one of the biggest challenges in surgery. We have developed and commercialized three products in the PNR space to improve surgical outcomes and patient recovery.
Despite the long history of major microsurgical research, peripheral nerve repair remains an area with limited effective treatment options available. The main goals of PNR are functional motor and sensory recovery and prevention of neuroma formation. Repair options are necessarily diverse, as each type of injury requires a different repair approach.
We have developed and commercialized a PNR portfolio of three products to improve surgical outcomes and patient recovery, facilitating diverse repair approaches such as bridging, capping and protecting the nerve. With our portfolio, we aim to make an integral contribution to the diverse toolkit of peripheral nerve repair options required by surgeons.
Our PNR products are made of a unique proprietary Caprolactone co-polyester material. The proprietary ratio between Lactide and Caprolactone in the polymer enables a favorable resorption profile compared to other Lactide Caprolactone-based polymers. After fulfilling their function to support healing, the products are safely metabolized into naturally occurring substances and excreted.
NEUROLAC® nerve guides are indicated for reconstruction of peripheral nerve discontinuities up to 20 mm.
VIVOSORB® is a flexible bioresorbable polymer film designed to separate opposing tissues throughout the critical healing process.
NEUROCAP® is intended to protect peripheral nerve ends for the surgical management of symptomatic end-neuromas.
